My advice helped VisitScotland adopt key principles of regenerative tourism. I worked with the Chair of the Tourism Innovation Group on strategic and organisational development, focused on CairnGorm Mountain Limited - a ski field threatened by global warming.
The approach spread beyond CairnGorm, influencing Scottish Natural Heritage, the Nevis Landscape Partnership, the Forestry Commission and the National Trust. It led to the creation of the Scottish National Centre for the Mountain Environment, helped win two multi-million-pound Lottery Fund grants, and set in motion initiatives that are still evolving today.
